Longtime Chicago White Sox anthem performer Gerald Chaney was “alert” and recovering after collapsing at Rate Field before the team’s game on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Gerald Chaney, a longtime and popular anthem singer for the White Sox at Rate Field, collapsed while singing "Lift Every Voice and Sing" prior to the start of Wednesday's game against the Rays.
